Mawgan Porth
Mawgan Porth is a beautiful large sandy beach that enjoys consistent surf conditions throughout the tide. The large cliffs on both sides create a dramatic natural amphitheatre that frames the wide expanse of golden sands. Clear waters provide for a beautiful surfing experience for all surfers from beginner to pros.
The whole family can enjoy setting up camp on the soft sand at the top of the beach which is sheltered from the wind, even dogs are welcome! As the tide goes out a vast expanse of beautiful golden sand is revealed allowing for long walks, ball games, kite flying and more. Children will love rock pooling along either side off the beach discovering much of the wildlife.
Mawgan Porth
A quiet, safe sandy beach with a lifeguard service between May and October. Consistent waves crash in clear water over soft golden sands.
Due to large tidal ranges and geographical position on the coast, Mawgan Porth experiences a variety of surfing conditions. Advanced surfers can enjoy Mid tide wedges and beginners can enjoy long rolling whitewater waves. At low tide we experience more of the power of the Atlantic Ocean with waves tubing over shallow sandbars. As a result there is rarely a ‘flat’ day at Mawgan Porth.
Owing to its westerly facing position, you can surf nearly every day. Also, this means beautiful sunsets!
